> Full screen caller picture on P1i
Bookmark topic
Hi,
Can you have a full screen picture of the caller party on your screen during the incming call? I know you can attach pictures to your contacts but can it be displayed full screen when he/she calles?
Is there a 3rd party app for this for UIQ3/P1i ?
Thanks!

Why do you need a full screen picture?

If I put an image taken by the camera to the caller (image taken during the assign process) then the picture is first of all always landscape for me. I couldn't find how to set it to portrait.
Secondly above and below the picture there is a lot of space with different things, like Answer? and the buttons, on the top also space and than the icons.
I thought it is somehow possible to put the picture first of all to portrait mode and maybe to go to the background having the controls and textual items on top overlayed. I saw something like this on an other phone (windows mobile I guess) and I thought it could be done here as well...
Have you observed that the picture appears after some delay when the call comes in? Is that related to the size of the picture? Do you cut and schrink your pictures in some way before assigning them to callers? Is that worth to do, or the cam takes the images already resized to fit the caller window area? I'm wondering if the delay could be reduced by taking the images, shrinking them to a certain size in photoshop and put them back to the phone and then assigning it? What do you think?
(Yeah, for this we should know the exact size of the image area in pixels. Have an idea?)
Cheers

I'm struggeling with this picture issue. If I assign a picture to a contact it works fine for a while, but then the picture is not displayed any more when getting or making a call.
I have discovered, that some of my contacts show up with a + sign at the end of the name when I make the call. For example Whoever(+)
Do you know why this is? It thought it has something to do with the fact that I have more numbers attached to that contact, but I have some other contacts also with more than 1 number and there I don't have the + sign when calling or receiving.
Are you experiencing the same with the disapperaing pictures?

the + is instead of a double 00 i think, +46 that is the landcode for sweden is 0046, but you can type it +46, maybe the phone has some issues with that? and you really don't need the landcode if the numbers are located in your country when you call them

No, no, what I meant is the plus sign being at the end of the name, not at the beginning of the number!
But I already figured it out. The plus sign after the name (like: John (+)) means that you have more than one record for that name. So the name is doubled either in the phone memory, or you have it in the phone memory and in the SIM memory as well!
But for other reasons, it's good to empty the SIM memory and use the phone memory alone.
