This is from a Navid Gondal over at my-symbian.com's forum - in case, like me, some of you were wondering how to speed dial a number with the flip closed - intuititve in hindsight really, but for some reason I didn't think about it...
"Hey... There is a pretty good speed-dial function from the phone application within the communicator part of the P800. But I was wondering for some days now.. how to make speed-dials with the flip closed. Originally I took the flip off the phone, but found out that having the flip On (the hardware flip) made it easier to dial numbers.. and also it saves the screen inside for damage.. anyway... If you want to speed dial the number on the speed-dials inside the phone.. you just press the according number on the flip and the press OK... for instance if you have your girlfriends number on speed-dial no. 9 on the phone application, the same number can be speed-dialled from the hardware flip by pressing 9, and the OK button. "
