> help.W960i screen not working
Bookmark topic
i just got my phone from my side pocket and i noticed that the screen is not working at all. the buttons, backlight and everything work fine but the screen remains completely blank. the touch screen was working. i could hear the click sound it makes when you press on it. but after a while the touch screen wouldn't work either. did anyone have the same problem? I'm thinking of reinstalling the firmware and see if this fixes the problem but i first want to know if anyone had the same problem and how they fixed it. thanks

Sounds very hardwareish to me, particularly as it went wrong in your pocket - could just be a loose screen connector onto the mainboard - if your brave enough, open it up and reseat the connectors - if not then take it for repair.

Have a guitar plectrum or similar handy as it's very useful for prising the casings apart on SE phones without dammage
good luck!!

Howdy.
Mine has done this twice now - first time I had to take it back to Vodafone and second time it just started working again on its own. I've been told that it's a software issue (even though it seems like a hardware one).
Suggest you run the SE update service and re-install the formware (see if you can do a backup first although you may struggle without control over the screen).
Good luck.

I opened it last night and guess what..the screen and touch screen cables were loose from the mainboard. i just pushed them in and everything was working fine. they may became loose from any hits or shocks

Or it could be that they were never properly attached in the first place - I've read several posts here that seem to indicate a flexible aproach to quality control.....
