the questions is this, how can i play .avi file sin my phone, any application out there for .avi or any other common used video format?

Also there is a point to be made here that .avi is simply a container, ie. the contents of a .avi file can vary dependent on the codecs used to compress the video and audio streams, so a player may not be able to play all .avi files as it may not have all the possible codecs of which there are many. On saying that, most modern standalone players come equiped with all the most commonly used codecs.
I personally use VLC on my pc, as it's one of the most comprehensive out there, just wish someone would port it to UIQ3/Symbian.

Can't believe. .avi works pretty fine. I use to watch 700 mb movies on my P1 without any problem.
