Hello,

Can someone please recommend a USB Bluetooth Dongle that will work with K810i for file transfer and A2DP?

I would like to get a nano eg http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/15388.htm (because it's nano) but not sure if it's compatible. I used to have a PC Bluetooth Card but it was no use. It could see my T630 but couldn't reliably transfer any files and couldn't even see my K810i.

Thanks - Andrew

In theory any bluetooth dongle will work. I have a belkin one that works well and a cheap one from ebay that is ok.

I use a generic BT adapter bundled with IVT BlueSoleil BT software.
Windows XP can't find it but that doesn't prevent it from working exceptionally well. Maybe I just need to enable it or adjust some settings It just means that using 'right click > send to Bluetooth device' doesn't work, but if you use MyPhoneExplorer you can 'right click > upload to Phone' which is better anyway. The BlueSoleil software is great; it's very detailed, allows for multiple BT profiles, can connect up to 7 devices at a time, and is compatible with Personal Area Network to share your computers internet connection with your phone. The dongle is BT Version 2.0 + EDR (Enhanced Data Rate), Class 2, and USB 2.0 compliant. It works well with the V640i, V800 and Samsung Z400v I've tried it with.

I got one that looks like that one for 8 quid from my cash and carry.
Perfect for my laptop, it's never out. I use it for the internet too which works fine, i use the card reader for files though. Much faster, but for the odd small file to any phone this is fine.

As the reviews say, it does stick out 5 mm, but it's never gonna catch on anything, and vista doesn't recognise it, so you can't use right click send to. Any way to sort that?
Bluesoliel works perfect though, that's what i use to dial my internet connection.

belkin on my computer and dlink on my laptop.

The first belkin I had was a version 1 with 10 metre range. It crapped out in a couple of months, working intermittantly. I kept using it until it stopped working completely but by then the warranty had run out. so I called and complained and they sent me out a new one even though I didn't have a warranty (or even the receipt). Mind you I had to work them for it.

The replacement one was version 2 and 100m range. (still only 10m for a phone to computer connection unless you have 100m BT in the phone). This one has worked fine for a couple of years now.

The dlink has been no trouble either.

Thanks to everyone for their responses.

Thought I would report back on what I did. I got the nano. Well chuffed: connects to K810i no probs, sent files both ways. Uses the Toshiba bluetooth stack software which looks very comprehensive and reliable.

Also connected my Sony dr-bt20nx headphones without probs and the audio quality is ace, just as it is when using my phone. But the reason I wanted to use my PC is because using my phone tends to drain the battery and I have to recharge it after a couple of days instead of the more usual 5 days.

Nice!
