Hey, I'm looking at this kit here: http://www.netfreez.com/produ[....]ith_GPS_antenna-11156-128.html

It says the GPS will only work with SmartPhones, or PDAs. Is this just a liability think or shouldn't it work with my K800i? I know plenty ofyou are using bluetooth GPS receivers on the phones. Could it in fact be different and incompatible with my k800i?

I've been looking for a kit like this, and this is exactly what I want, so I will only have one device in my truck, and not a handsfree, and a bluetooth receiver...

-Thanks!

Wouldn't it be better to get a TomTom with built in Bluetooth handsfree? Then you get the GPS screen (like your phone), the GPS reciever (like the Parrot) and the handsfree (like the Parrot) in one kit?

Hmm.... How does all of the phone functions work on something like that?

I just like getting the maximum use out of my k800i. And I like it when people see things it does that most phones don't. (well their cheapo free phones that they don't know how to work)

Sorry to make two quick posts, but I don't like that route for a few reasons... The speaker is in the device, not my stereo system with an auto-muting feature, the parrot is supposed to also handle my mp3 playing abilities, And I would probably want to take it out of the vehicle all the time, The parrot I can just leave on the dash with no worries.

Also price... The parrot is $179 and the GPS units seem to be far greater to get similar phone interaction features.

I may have to consider something like that though, but for now I'd like to find an alternative...

I suppose their all good points, even though some of the better TomTom's will play MP3's and connect to your car stereo to do so, but I can't fault the Parrot's for their handsfree kit capability, I have the 3200 LS-Colour in my car, and it's great at what it does. Just bought a seperate SatNav though as mines the Parrot without GPS, not that i'd need it.

Thing is, if your buying the Parrot mainly because it's got GPS (over the other Parrots), are you REALLY going to try driving whilst squinting at the tiny K800i screen? Is there really any point? I know you said you like getting the most out of your phone, but theres only so much you can squeese out before it becomes impractical really.

Honestly I've had the same thought, but I've been lost, and looked up the maps I had on the k800i locally, and I can read them, they are clear, and very helpful. I'm using a free Nav software. TrekBuddy. It uses google maps i think that you make and save to the phones memory, so there isn't even GPRS charges.

So I definitely want one of the Parrot kits and i figure since this one has gps in it too.... otherwise i was looking at buying a separate gps receiver to set on my dash.... only problem with that is it will have to be charged all the time.

I think the 3400 GPS is supposed to be the same as your 3200... Does your 3200 handle streaming music?

Nope, it's a different kit.

Mine is just for calls and has a colour display for caller ID pictures, and thats all it does. And the voice dialing is pretty good, but that could just be my BlackBerry

Cracking piece of kit, glad I bought it
