I'm trying to figure out if my 810i's bluetooth is shot, or if I have a setting on that should be off.
I've tried 2 headsets and both paired, connected, and then immediately disconnected. They now won't stay connected... paired, but not connected. Both headsets work fine with my wife's phone.
I had a bluetooth headset that came with the phone that worked fine, but it the earpiece broke, and then I lost it.
Any thoughts on why the new earpieces won't hold connection?

update the phone's firmware, if your phone's firware is branded (vodafone red) then unbrand your phone.

I did a firmware update last night, but that didn't solve the problem. I'll try unbranding it next.

The branding won't be causing the problem. All you'll do is void your warranty which isn't a good idea in the circumstances.
If the bug hasn't been dealt to, a fix won't be in current updates.
I've been having the same issue with my V640i when using it as a bluetooth modem. I've had the phone replaced but the same issue plagues this one too, causing it to turn off and on by itself.

does sony have a warranty? and if so, how bad is it? I'm used to their Vaio computer products- their warranty was horrible.

Sony don't make phones, your's is a Sony Ericsson which may seem like I'm splitting hairs but it's an important difference if you're after warranty service. Sony Ericsson products carry a standard 12 month warranty in my country and servicing is generally carried out through the local Vodafone stores. Therefore de-branding is not a good idea at all.
I assume you have a K810 not a W810?

Phone is a W810i walkman phone. I called SE and since it's still under warranty I'm going to send it in to confirm whether or not there's a problem. Any clues how to save my games so I don't lose them when they reset the phone?
