I got that message too with PC suite 1.4.4 while restoring unified inbox. Apparently restoration takes place only halfway in my case whereby my data takes up C:/ drive but doesn't appear in messaging

Just re-installed 1.4.4 and it's doing the backup fine...
Maybe 1.5.8 can't cope with the hacked mods to the phone (by accident or design?
)

If backup or restore any of these fails
try out this remedy it works for most of the people
import existing backups to some folder and delete all previous backups from pc suit and now try doing backup or restore
