8GB has been the maximum for not just m2, but including pro duo for about 3 years now. Is'nt 32gb supposed to be the maxium? Many phones now have 8-16gb internal memory, the cards should be the thing that has more. Arn't we in need of 16gb cards yet?

Are manufactures even working on the capacity of m2 or pro duos anymore?
For now only the microsd will go over 16GB. The 16GB microsd is expected to hit the market this year.

What is the filesystem of the 16GB cards? I know the 4 and 8 gb ones were FAT32 (as far as I know) so they were supported by DB2020 phones and later. if the 16GB ones have the same filesystem, they should be supported too, but I personally don't believe they are still the same filesystem

Maybe it is advanced with backwards compatibility because if not hen we still have to buy new phones

I was under the impression that the current generation of M2 cards were capable of up to 32GB eventually.

Well they are... The theoretical barrier of M2 capacity is currently 32GB. After that it's believed that it will require a new filesystem formatting to continue increasing their storage capacity... But not 100% sure... Anyway it may work without new filesystem, no one knows... We will know that for sure when the 32 GB cards are invented... But we are not too far in my opinion. As the 16GB cards are coming now, the 32GB ones should come in one year
