The 8GB version has ended production, that was about 3 weeks ago. We got a memo come round early last week saying the last 8GB iPhones have been shipped from the warehouse and now they're almost certainly going to be sold before 1 June. Put simply, the odds of getting one are unlikely.

Last time I checked even Apples website, they were out of both 8GB and 16GB ones.

good topic.

what's more amusing though is the lack of iPhones driving the price of the things sky high.

theres people on my internal message board tring to sell 8gb ones for over £300... they sell for £280+ on ebay too.

Seriously though, you have to be either dumb, or severely impatient to pay those prices for a device that's going to be obsolete in less than a months time..

it's not even as if you could argue that buying a v1 iphone is going to be comparable. The whole point of the iphone is its data connectivity, and 3g is the absolute minimum in my book.
