Hi, I'm having problems with my T68m -- it keeps freezing when i try to do _anything_! It turns on ok, but then if i press any button, the phone freezes (have to take the battery out to turn it off). If i plug the charger in it also freezes. Also, if the phone is off and i plug the charger in, the phone turns on (and then freezes) instead of staying off and "charging only".

If anyone can help at all it would be much appriciated!!!

not much you can do... bring it to a servicepoint... sounds as it is either a software error or a memory fault.

I had the same problem after an occasional drop of my T68m... Sent it in for service, the fixed it for free (it was the SIM-holder).
Good Luck
And take care you don't get any of the R5Axxx software... My phone had some serious bugs with that...

It's about 9 months old (so still under warrenty) and it's from the Carphone Warehouse (which is closed today). Can't tell what the software version i have is (cause it freezes...) but it was updated in about October last year.

I just don't want to lose the 200-ish phone numbers (or to be without a phone for the x days it'll take them to fix it [looking around for my trusty 5110:) ]).....

Do i need to specially ask them not to upgrade the firmware to R5A? (is that the newest release?)

you will not loose the numbers during a normal upgrade (latest is R6A012).. but... if the phone still freezes after they have upgraded it, there isn't much to do to save your numbers in the phone...
