> Got a bargain today

Today i went out to buy a new phone just as a temporary phone until i get my bonus. Went into O2 store and decided to buy Nokia 5310 music phone with 2 giga byte card. Got phone for 99.99 but the assistant said if i top up with 20 quid i will recieve free JBL speakers that go with this phone worth 100 quid. Wow yes i thought i will take it. Fantastic deal or what the phone is nice has great sound quality can take any headphones and them speakers are amazing. My last purchase was a nightmare this is still temp phone till i get my ultimate phone when i get my work bonus but will keep this phone as a second plus a sound system. Really good. Camera is very slow but pictures look quite sharp on screen and its slim and sexy. Good day i say.

Interesting, simply because you HAVE to top up at least £10, and the free speaker deal is going on regardless of how much you top up. It might be £20, but if it's not, the salesman was just trying to hit his airtime (credit) target.

That is retail for you, when i was at JS we had to ask people if they wanted stamps or phone credit, i mean come on. I never did though, you know when you need phone credit or you should do.

not been on pay and go since I was 16 but I used to get a text saying my credit was running low... used to give me the kick up the arse to go get some more!

lol, I know it sounds dumb, but thats why this guy may have sold extra credit. You mention it to a customer when their buying a phone, even if it's a contract one, and ask if they need to top up their son/daughter/husband/wife/dog's phone etc.
It works sometimes lol

It was a woman serving me in the store. She looked at her screen and then just said IF YOU TOP UP TWENTY POUNDS TODAY SIR YOU WILL RECIEVE FREE SPEAKERS WITH THIS PHONE. Yes to me she was reading a promotion from her screen. Nice though.

PAYG whats that? as Fatreg explains ive also never had that since 1998
ive got a Mobile World sim card for international calls it needs topped up but it asks for £10 even though it states I can put £5 on it heh!

Im on pay as you go cos i really dont want a contract. I used to have a contract many moons ago. Sorry no pictures but i will soon i am also going to buy new laptop soon if you see my other thread in non mobile discussion. I got good tariff with my pre pay and i like being able to change phones whenever i wish or whenever funds allow. I can buy sim free or pay and go and never be stuck in a contract with a phone i hate or get bored of thats just me. Anyway speakers are great with much bass can be used on mains or battery and also use radio and charges phone at same time. Has 2 leads to connect to other mp3 players portable disc players or laptop. 5310 has amazing sound for such a thin small phone really dynamic beats other phones i had for music though in long term i will get bored. Lol
