Hi guys. Just got myself a W960 on the O2 network. I am having trouble with the phone and my built on bluetooth handsfree on the car. Its a BMW system and I can pair the 3 together but it wont transfer the numbers on the onboard system. Basically all it will do is allow me to take the calls not access the phonebook or last dialed. I have upgraded from a K850 and had no problems with that or the previous K750 or W810 but now it doesnt seem to want to work. I WAS having probs with the TrackID not working/connecting but that seems to have sorted itself out ... was it down on the weekend does anyone know?

I am not sure but I dont think the phonebook can sync from a UIQ phone. I may be wrong though.

From the W960 White Paper:

"Profiles
The following Bluetooth profiles are supported in the W960:

•Dial-up Networking Profile
•Generic Access Profile
•Generic Object Exchange Profile
•Object Push Profile
•Serial Port Profile
•Handsfree Profile
•Headset Profile
•Synchronization Profile
•Basic Imaging Profile
•File Transfer Profile
•Human Interface Device (HID) host only Profile
•Stereo Advanced Audio Distribution Profile
•Advanced Audio/Video Remote Conference Profile"

Phonebook Access Profile is NOT included unfortunately.

Hi

My brother has a 320d coupé and when I connect my P990 to his car, contacts are all transfered automatically, everything works just fine. With his phone (N80), in the other hand, it didn't work. However, he installed some app he found on the web on the mobile and now it works like a charm

Hi snake do you happen to know what the application was? I borrowed my mums car yesterday and she has a generic bluetooth handsfree and the phone transferred fine with that so it just seems to be my car

It seems it's only for nokia, this is the URL anyway:

http://europe.nokia.com/A4143881

The one he has installed is
Nokia 810 Contact Download Application for Nokia S60 3rd edition devices

I doubt any of those will work in a UIQ device, but maybe it's worth a try. Perhaps someone could do a port.

Hi,

just to say my w960i and bmw bluetooth seems to have a mind of its own sometimes it seems to connect straightaway and then it can take a hour but my wifes phone which is a k800i connects straightaway , i am not sure if it is due to the w960i being a symbian phone . i have tried lots of different settings but it still has a mind of its own if anyone has any ideas how the BT connection could be improved that would be great.

cheers
