> Help using T68 as modem
Bookmark topic
Hi
I really need some help with this one as it's bugging the hell out of me!
I'm trying to connect my PC to the internet through my T68i's GPRS connection. I am using an IRDA adapter to connect the PC to my phone and I am using O2 GPRS. The problem is I can connect if I dial using the installed infrared modem it says connected at 28.5Kbs but I cant get any websites and I cant change any settings for the infrared modem. If I try connecting using the T68 infrared modem that I installed using the Erricson software I just get an error "could not open port" or something similar. Does any one have any idea what I doing wrong? Any input would be good because this is friving me nut!

Hello Thomas,
I tried the very same thing the other day with my T68i, although I tried it across a bluetooth connection. I also have O2 and GPRS and managed to get it all connected but found that I could only surf *.o2.co.uk domains (in other words only O2 company websites).
I found it odd that I could only access O2 websites since I use the same connection profile whilst on the move to surf wap, which I can then of course access any wapsite on my phone.
I sent an e-mail to O2 and found that in order to achieve what I wanted I need to add the Mobile Web services to my account. (The full details of which can be found on their website in the products section. There is a charge for the service which you will find out about).
However, this Mobile Web service is only available for monthly contract customers only and so since I'm only on their online PAYG service I cannot have it.

Hi mate. I just recently discovered exactly the same thing. I got it set up but as you said I could only surf o2 websites! There has to be a way around this some how. Maybe we need a DNS server or something. I will keep trying.
