Hello everybody !
I am planning to return (again) to a P1i since as I saw on this forum most of the problems are solved or can be solved with some effort by the user.
I saw here a post that I cannot find now with some generic IMEI first characters or serials of P1i from which it can be deducted year of manufacturing. In short if I will buy a new P1i I want to be as recent as possible hoping that some hardware (especially the green tint) issues are solved in the new batches.
Does anybody has such list ?
Thank you !
Best Regards,

Try to get one which has a '6' or higher as the 9th digit of the IMEI number:

35703301-6xxxxxx

The ones starting with 1 - 5 are earlier batches fm last year.

It doesn't REALLY matter as long as you can update it. The hardware is perfectly fine,the software is the problem!

@701

Right, the sw is the same, but there are obviously differences bet hw revisions.

Two differences I have noticed bet R4A and R5A is the keyboard lighting and the LCD.

R4A has yellowish LED's and R5A has white LED's and R4A's LCD is sightly brighter than R5A at max. brightness.

I'm not sure if the cam module has been changed in any of the revisions, but my personal experience is that the green tint has been fixed in the latest fw.

You can just look at the label under the battery, year and week of manufacture is written there.

Yes, this is even better, but only if you can find unsealed boxes or convince the salesman to open a sealed box for you.
