Can someone help me. Soon i will be upgrading to a top of the range phone. But something is bothering me. I want to use YouTube on my phone but i have yet to ever see it work on my phone. I have a Nokia 5310 on O2 pay and go which even has in the menus a YouTube link but it just never works saying response unknown. Am i doing something wrong or is it cos i have a GSM only mobile or is it cos the phone is just not cut out for it or is it cos i need a 3G connection. Networks are always advertising that these things are supposed to work on a mobile yet i never see it work. I once downloaded an application for YouTube for my old K800i but even that never worked on 3G which leaves me guessing its the network or again pay and go on O2 might not offer this service. Which networks does it work best on is it Vodafone cos i always see them advertising it so much. Help.

i am no expert but I can confirm that You Tube plays absolutely fine on my Nokia n95 8gb. Whilst I have a dedicated application for playing it on the phone, I am pretty certain that the key is having a 3g connection, without it which you will always have problems.

YouTube should only work on the iPhone or the latest version of S60 FP3.
Dunno how on earth it's working on your K810i, but shouldn't do lol.

Do you use an application or the inbuilt browser?

Well I just go to m.youtube.com.
So that has to be the browser.

Some time ago i found out about Tiny Tube which was supposed to be made for mobiles and it was You Tube but just made for mobile but that never worked either. Your lucky if you get it working but if Vodafone advertise that you can access these sites but dont state spacific phones then it must work. They dont sell the iphone and the iphone is not even 3G.

Vodafone have a thing going on with YouTube I think, so yeah it makes sense for Voda to support it on 3G, but otherwise I have always been told your handset needs to support Flash Lite to work with YouTube, which the N95 8GB and the N82 etc can do, but apart from the iPhone I didn't think others could without the help of the networks portal converting it (ie Vodafone).

@NightBalde
That's not the full YouTube site but just a portal for mobile devices you can't do full searches and only have a limited selection of Videos to watch.
@all
The Nokia's that have Flash Lite 3.0 can access the full YouTube site straight from the browser I'm not sure if the Networks YouTube apps go to the full site or not as haven't used them. But the best way is with a device that has Flash Lite 3.0 support as it gives unrestricted access to all of YouTube.
