Call it Raphael no longer! HTC has officially thrown the cover off its Touch Pro today -- the QWERTY slider sibling of the recently-unveiled Touch Diamond -- which should cover the bases for those who loved the Diamond's keen looks but decided they'd go our of their gourds without a full set of physical keys at their disposal. Under that glossy black shell lies WiFi, HSPA with a solid 7.2Mbps on the downstream, Bluetooth, 2.8-inch VGA display, Windows Mobile 6.1 featuring HTC's TouchFLO 3D interface, a 3.2 megapixel camera, a half gig of ROM, and 288MB of RAM. It's not going to win any "world's thinnest" records with an 18.05mm waistline, but those five rows of textual healing don't come without a price. The first batch of devices will be Europe-bound in "late summer" with 900 / 2100MHz 3G alongside the quadband GSM and EDGE; North and Latin American versions are promised for later in the year.

Ah! so this is what people were talking about when they said HTC will release an X1 clone faster and at a lower cost.

So what's the verdict on X1 vs. Touch Pro? Spec-wise I mean. I know they are very very similar in spec, but I think the X1 just pips this... Am I right? Cause I thought the X1's white-paper recently told us it had doubled in RAM. I must say I prefer the X1's appearance, though this definitely looks awesome too.

Yep, X1's still the king.

Now it's 256 to 288 on Raphael, iirc.
X1 has a bigger display. Besides that...

The only thing I'm missing in the X1 is the accelerometer. Maybe that'll change. But the only thing in which the X1 is better than the touch pro is the screen imo.
So does Raphael support SDHC?

The choice may come down to the UI. TouchFlo3D looks polished and easy to use while the X1 panels are slow at the moment and not that hot anyway (my opinion). The HTC will be out soon which is a big advantage.
I would go for HTC purely because the panels look boring and slow, TouchFlo3D looks easy to use, fast and just better eye candy. What about accelerometer? X1 doesn't have this does it?

Hi all,
How can this be an X1 clone if it is released first? just because HTC don't announce products 9 months before they launch. Doesn't make it a clone and who knows if the X1 will be better or not and until it launches we won't?
But just who will be left to buy the X1 by the time it arrives that won't already of taken this first with a Network subsidy. Besides a few SE fans that is, hardly enough to make it a sales success.
Just what Networks are going to stock this when they will have their own branded version of the HTC? well before the X1 is available and most likely cheaper to.

It does. From the specs page:
Expansion Slot microSD™ memory card (SD 2.0 compatible)
SD 2.0 is SDHC.
