Chinese and Japanese phones are not the same.
The phones we usually call "fakes" are Chinese, but Japanese phones certainly are no "fakes", they're in a league of their own, different from those we have here, but often higher specced.
When you "point to the East" in general, you can include Samsung, from Korea
