I'm new to the forum- Hi. I have entered my details into the phone (t 68i) as per the handbook. but cannot connect to the server whe I try to send and recieve. Here is what I've done - what am I doing wrong - or haven't I done?

1 Connect Using: Lineone ( I set up a data account for Lineone)
2 protocol: POP3
3 Inc server pop3.lineone.net
4 incoming port 110
5 Mailbox brian.annie
6Password XXXX
7 Outgoing serversmtp.lineone.net
8 Outgoing port 25
9 E-mail address brian.annie@lineone.net

How do tell it which data account to use and should I be using a pre-set?? Sorry to be so dumb!

Thanks
Annie ( Herby)

You could try this:

1 Connect Using: Lineone
2 protocol: POP3
3 Inc server 212.74.114.58
4 Incoming port 110
5 Mailbox brian.annie
6 Password XXXX
7 Outgoing server 212.74.114.61
8 Outgoing port 25
9 E-mail address brian.annie@lineone.net

You may need to change the SMTP server IP address to the one of your network, because of SMTP authentication issues.

Try setting up an account with HotPOP- they provide you with all the information necessary. I got mine working straight away!

Yes it has been found that when setting up POP3 accounts on T68 and T68i (and possibly also the T300) that you must enter the actual numerical IP addresses as opposed to the text based ones.

So that Korova's solution should in most cases work
