Finally the price of the 8gb has come down to the point that I could not pass up that chance at buying it, it's in the $50 range on Amazon, can't wait to put on 7.5 gigs of music and take it out for a spin, at least I'll have matched the iPhone for two weeks!!!

I have 7.5 gigs on it, it plays everything, I does slow down the amount of time it takes to load a song initially, although once you are in a playlist or album you can maneuver through just as quickly. I have noticed that when I have the 8gig card in my Yahoo Go 2.0 malfunctions, while Opera Mini asks which internet settings I use (instead of using the default), but it works, when I remove the card those issues disappear.

So I have now had the 8gig card for a week, here are my findings:
The card works great, but due to its size it takes a chunk of my k790i's memory (ram) which only has thus far impacted the use of Yahoo! Go mobile, I have found a workaround in loading a small theme and turning off bluetooth when I run Yahoo! Go, then everything works fine. I have been unable to use the KD player, since it doesn not load the songs, I don't know if it's a memory issue or whether KD 0.9.5 is simply buggy, I so have the card filled to the brim. Using the SE player it takes about 10 seconds to load albums or playlists, after that no lag exists switching between songs.
So in the end I give the card a big thumbs up, especially since I was able to get it for under $60 with shipping.

have you tried the memory in other phones ? it takes 10 seconds to open the player every time or the first time ?

The player opens up instantly, no lag, once open when I choose a track from an album or playlist it will take 3-10 seconds to load, once I am in the album or playlist I can navigate through songs with zero lag, but if I go back to artists and try to pick a new album for another song it will take around 3-10 seconds again to load that new song. There is no lag as far as navigating through the menus, jumping through artists is also fast although you might feel a millisecond lag here or there simply because of memory constraints on the phone.
I just tried timing the lag on loading a new song from another album and it was 3 seconds from U2 to the Cranberries, it was 7 when I jumped to Bruce Springsteen, so that is the experience, if you do a playlist you should be fine.
EDIT: In playlists, if you have 200 songs in a playlist, you will have lag to start when scrolling down the list, once you scroll through once lag disappears.
