I'm currently in houston, tx, and cingular here is still in the process of upgrading from tdma to gsm, and i have had my eyes on the p800 for a long time now. I really want this phone! I was wondering since its Jan 2003 already, any news on when this damn phone will be out in the US? and whats the price anyone know?

http://www.4cellular.com/search/phone_detail.cfm?id=89

that site has it listed for $1529.99, and another site had it listed for $999, if this is the case, thats incredibly insane. I really hope this isnt the case... i was thinking around $400 for this, but $999??? c'mon...

will this phone work with cingular, since its tri band, im thinking right, yes? just stick in my sim card and im good to go?

It should work on the Cingular network but don't count on them releasing this phone at all.

Right now people can charge whatever they want for the P800 since it's still pretty rare and hard to get a hold of.

My opinion in another 3-4 months once SE starts shipping these in masses you'll some the price come down to about the $500-$600 price range.

I don't see it going down much lower than that range for the simple reason that there is nothing that can really compare to it right now.

By the end of the year you'll probably be able to get it for ~ $300

Of course i could be completely wrong and by Easter you can get it for $99.99

yeah i think that site is stupid for selling it for that much, I'm starting to see the p800 being sold for $600-$800 range now at a few places... so $1500 is ridiculous... has anyone in the US bought a p800 yet? and if so from where and how much was it... i need some reliable dealers to order from, so can you guys that already bought the phone here in the US, list some reliable dealers that you've ordered the phone from please, thanks... i hope this phone will work with my Mac using iSync...

My sources at Cingular mentioned to me that they will have them in February....price unknown. I would expect for the P800 to be in par with the price of the Treo and Nokia Communicator: $499 - 599 with subsidy.

My sources at T-Mobile mentioned that they were supposed to have received them 2 weeks ago. Is is my belief that T-Mobile will be the first US carrier with the branded P800.

WoeDee how reliable are your sources at cingular? and will they be branded? Cause I've seen places on the net where you can get the p800 unlocked, unbranded factory model for as low as $650, If cingular or any US cell provider carries em, i would say the price would be around $400 since it will be sim locked...
