I'm trying to copy some files from my phone to my pc with far+jdflasher (version from 3 jan 2008). Copying things to the phone works perfectly, trying to copy things from the phone results in a "don't know howto read the file". What am I doing wrong?
Edit: I'm using a k800i RED CID53, with R8BF003

it may not work with your cid53 k800 but if jdflasher can upload files to it, it should be able to copy them off using the method in the link

It's not working SEFP can't read the FS and the XML generator seems to useful only to copy things to the phone not from the phone, I recall with my k750i I was able to make a full firmware and FS dump as backup. I want to do the same but was unable so I figured to just backup the custom part and drivers before I start modding this baby

Well jdflasher can copy files from my phone (and any other CID52 phone), but I don't think it can copy from CID53 too... You can try the newest version of jdflasher to see if CID53 "copy from phone" support is available.

If it does not copy files from CID52 phones also, then definately it's the version causing the problem... Anyway I have never tested it with CID53 myself so was not sure if it can copy or not...
P.S. It would be nice if you inform me if it can copy files FROM CID53 phone (and which version you used)

Sure no problem, will do! My previois k800i which ran the same firmware was cid52 but had a stuck white pixel on the screen that was annoying me badly, my return model seems to be a slightly newer build, batter has a newer date too, and unfortunately was cid53

Alright got no luck with the "latest" test6 release, if that is the latest anyways, it is hard to find the "official" pages for these things. Got this of another forum. It says 9th of June 2008, so definitely newer than what I used before but still no luck copying stuff form the phone.
Is there a way to get it back to CID52?

You cannot downgrade CID from 53 to 52... CID is only upgradable, but not downgradable too... Anyway, you can try on another PC or something to see if it works...
