Well I copied the following from another website and hope that it would help those T300 users with the memory problem, being delected those defaulted backgrounds doesn't free up phone memory..........not sure whether it works or not, try it see if it helps (make sure you backup everything on your phone first ):

There is a way to get some more free memory in the T300.
"After a complete reset the sonyericsson pictures doesn't take any space before you actually look at them (I'm guessing it creates thumbnails of them or loads them from a ROM chip somewhere) so if you stop the phone from being able to load them you'll be able to delete them and get the extra free memory.

Easiest way to stop them from being able to load is to fill the phone's memory up first. (Having an IR or a cable would help at this stage)

After the reset, turn off the background picture and the screensaver (otherwise that SE logo will load as the background), activate the IR and fill the phone up with MIDI's or whatever (works with pictures too). When you reach 0 byte free memory you can go to My Pictures and delete all the stock pictures without them being able to load (They'll just show empty white boxes)

After that you just delete all the stuff you used to fill the phone up with and you're done. It might sound like too much of a hassle, but it freed up around 100 K for me, and that's quite a few backgrounds/games/signals. "

Nothing preinstalled is permanently erasable with R1D. EVERYTHING that has been factory preset will reappear after a master reset, whether the phone permits erasure or not. This post was posted from a Nokia

with R1D, you'll not lose the preinstalled games... but, the tips doesn't work cause the R1D doesn't allow the user ot deleted the pre-installed stuffs... When you try it, even without load the pics after a MR, you'll not be able to erase them... i've tried twice... but, another solution is not to watch them.... idem for the MMS templates...

You are able to delete it with R1d software. I tried it. U r just MAKING the pictures unavailable therefore, by uploading stuff onto your phones, the pre-installed pictures could not load themselves and you will be able to delete it off temporary. After doing this, uploaded around 10 poly tones, one game and a few pics, i still left with 400kb+ memory
