I wanted to be able to send SMS from outlook, so I uninstalled the current version of Ericsson Comms Suite (1.5.x or whatever) and downloaded the "full functionality for outlook users" package from sonyericsson. However, the installation never finishes - it keeps on giving the "you have to run setup again after reboot - installing is not finished" message and doesn't install the Outlook plug-in. XTND PC seems to install ok.
Even after uninstalling the "full functionality" package, there are still phone monitor files in the program files folder and ericsson registry entries left and what not. The phone monitor settings are left on the control panel, but no ericsson (or XTND PC) software is listed in the remove programs list. On a new attempt to install, all the boxes to choose components are greyed out with a tick, implying that they are already installed and will be upgraded.
How do I uninstall ALL ericsson software so that I can have a clean attempt at installing the Outlook sms plug-in??? The uninstall clearly doesn't seem to do it's job. I think the problem lies with the uninstalling of the phone monitor software, but I don't know what to do about it.
Thanks in advance for your help!

I had the same nightmare with a "new" version on SE website...
I really don't know waht it is, but I had a lot of work to uninstall it manually and then installing R4 (build 2002) again....
I ended up with no modem drivers. Even if I try to install them again, they are not listed in Control Panel/Add modems, nor I can find the .inf file for them.
Can anyone help me?
