I got my unlocked k790a in today and as far as I know, everything is working like it should. I went to the SE website and downloaded the settings for internet and messaging and and installed those as instructed.
However, above the signal strength bar, there is a little E there. Is that supposed to be there always with this phone?
For my w810i, I only noticed it there whenever I was on the internet with the phone. With the k790a, its there and hasn't disappeared, even though I'm not on the internet (or am I?).
Just wanted to know if that was normal or not, that way hopefully I wasn't being charged for internet access unbeknown me.
Thanks in advance.

Thats just the phone constantly searching for an EDGE/GPRS signal. You won't be charged for it, and you can turn it off to save battery life by going to Settings -> Connectivity -> Data comm. -> Preferred service -> CS only.

Thanks for the tip.
Another problem though. It seems that my phone locks up by itself. Say I use the phone for a call or something and I lay it down. Maybe 5 minutes later, I can't get the phone to come back up and work. I even try pushing the power button and it does nothing. I have to take the battery out and restart it that way, but then it goes back to doing the same thing.
Any ideas? I tried to do a service update, but it says I have the latest firmware. Old sim card? I can't see why that would that problem. I'm out of things to try.
Hopefully I can get help through here.
