Was: k800i help

hi guys, new here, i searched and have no clear answer...anyways heres my story. I turned off my phone since I was about to get aboard the plane, and when I tried to turn it on I get a flashing white screen, but no red light. From reading and searching several forums, it seems that most of the answer is that I need a reflash, so I downloaded XS++. As soon as I connected it, it shows this info:

I have downloaded "K800_R8BF003_MAIN_GENERIC_WI_RED52.mbn"
and also "K800_R8BF003_FS_CENT_EUROPE_RED52.fbn" , they are both Europe. When I try to flash my k800i with that it just shows the following:

Can someone point me to the right direction in fixing my phone? Thanks guys, hopefully I didnt waste $400 on this 1 year old phone....Thanks again all....

hi

your phone is a CID51 and the files you downloaded are for CID52. when you connect your phone to xs++ it asks you if you want to upgrade it to CID52. if you desire to upgrade it, then you will be able to use the files you have there.

otherwise you will need to download files for a k800 CID51

I dont understand why it is saying cid52_r2a006.bin.....I downloaded a CID51 file. I got it from here

Well don't upload firmwares from Iprotebe much... Iprotebe are good for custpacks. most firmware I have tried from there were not working... Try www.4shared.com, download CID52 firmware and flash your phone. It will be upgraded imo.

I have done and tried but no luck, I still keep on getting that same "Failed sending datachunk" message at the end. Am I doing something wrong? Wrong files that I've downloaded perhaps?

Im here in the USA by the way and just noticed that phone has something mentioning Hong Kong and when I plug it in it the Cust pack says something about Europe. If that makes any difference. TY for the help guys....what am I doing wrong?

Try flashing the phone with GENERIC MAIN and MEDITERR FS and see if it works... It can be result of incompatible flash files too

ok heres an update.....I tried flashing with a generic CID51 and CID52 Main and also Mediteranean FS and Euro FS, but still no luck.....I tried customising the cust pack and that worked but the fone is still the same thing...

All it does is flash the white screen and a light vibrate.....grr....help help..

P.S. how much would something like this will cost me if I send it to Sony Ericsson???
