> Sony Ericsson w890i question - please help
Bookmark topic
Hello
Recently I have purchased a new mobile phone (I am coming from the old k750i), a w890i. I didn't had many mobile phones in my life but I have to say that the built quality of the w890 is good..but here is my concern - after the unboxing, I was looking for that "Made In XXX" label but couldn't find it anywhere. My friend has the exact same model and on his phone (in the back of it) it is written clearly "Made In China"..my question is..is my phone a "fake" one? I mean..as I said, I hadn't many phones in my life, just about 5 but every mobile device that I owned, had that "made in" thingy labeled on the back..so I am confused. And another thing..my friends box is different than mine. Why's that? I mean, we have the exact same model - the expresso black one, and his box shows the mobile phone on it, and it says "stereo speakers, 3g+..and on my box it's no picture of the phone, all you can see on my box is the phone (from side) and the phone logo. Please tell me, should I worry about my phone? Is it a fake phone or what is it? On the box it is written "printed in CHina", but I cannot find that "made in" thing...please tell me if I should worry about this.
Thank you in advance and sorry if my english isn't that good..

First of all, thanks for the fast reply.
I have attached a few photos with the box and my phone..hope this helps...
ANd if this is a fake, can I ask for a replacement? I mean, what will I say to them? They gave me a fake phone with no "made in" label?
I am so confused..:\\

Does your friend have the Vodafone version? The box of VF mobiles differs from the original box. Yours seems 100% like a box of an unbranded W890.

yup phone, box and os look legit but like tranced said put you imei code into that site that should tell you if it real se hardware or not. you can find you imei code by looking behind the battery near sim slot or on the box (big rectangle white sticker with a barcode.

Thank you very much for your fast replies. To answer some of your questions - my friend also have the unbranded version but as I said, the box differs from mine. I made two pics of my friends w890i box...
I am feelin better now after what you said..but still, I don't have that "made in" thing. In the pic you can see that on my friends phone box it's says made in china, and on the back on his phone as well but I don't have that. Should I worry about this "made in" thing or should I Ignore it? I will try inserting that IMEI code and will let you know what it says.
One more thing I'd like to add..as you can see, this is my first post on esato and I want to thank you for your quick and accurate responses. I really appreciate it.

Hello
I have introduced my IMEI and here is what it said..
Looks like it is a real Sony Ericsson phone..huh, and I started to worry :|
But still, I don't understand why they didn't say where this phone was made..maybe I'm a little skeptic about all this..but it would be nice to know where my phone was made in

Personally, I think it's made in china,..like all other SE devices...but who knows where this was made in..guess I'll never find that answer
Thanks for the help guys
