To get one for $470 you will have to wait a few months but then, you should NOT either pay $1000 on eBay. If it will be as with the T68 you will probably have to wait until the summer to see a US service provider carry the P800. To buy one in Europe right now without contract people are paying around $800.

If you have followed the financial news lately you might have noticed that the US dollar has lost in value so that is why the phone will still be somewhat expensive for US consumers.

So if i get one on ebay for around 800 will it work with U.S. Carriers? will i be able to surf the web and such? Thanks a lot.

I thought the p800 was supposed to launch in the us this month though. if so then where will it be launched if not us carriers?

Isn't $470 the price for the P800 w/ a contract?

So if 470 is the price with a contract then I am looking at 800 correct? Now where can i get one of these for 800? I'm really confused though because I was sure this thing was supposed to come out in the U.S. late December early January. They are selling on ebay for 1000-1300 like hotcakes too.

P800 available in the US in the very near future thru T-Mobile, branded. No pricing details available as of late.
However, you can get an unlocked P800 at mobilefly.com for USD$799. Also available at uaemall.com for USD$812. Since the phones sold by uaemall and mobilefly are sim free, they should work on any GSM 900/1800/1900 network. Web surfing shouldn't be a problem after manually provisioning the P800 with the proper Internet/MMS/SMS/WAP settings.

If you live in the US and can't get one at a cheaper price from Europe I would go with mobilefly - looks like a good deal - that is if you don't want to wait a few months for the prices to go down - it costs to be early with new technology!
