Nokia has just recently launched their series 40 platform 6th Edition. See review of this on www.mobilereview.com Frankly i think it looks awful and looks worse than before. Menus looks less graphical and cheap and nasty looking. To me it looks like a Motorola menu and seems as bad as Orange or Vodafone branding. I love the new SonyEricsson menus on some of their new models and how you can change the look of it. Very poor oh Nokia what have you done. I know usability should only really matter but i hate it.

If you're hung up on Looks not usability or both married together; I'm surprised you reported it - but thanks glad you did.

Improvements I'm happy about ....
# Full-fledged support for Flash Lite 3 that allows running games and various animated swf files, including time- and date-conscious wallpapers;
# Support for WiFi that extends beyond VoIP – data connections are now available too [ we STILL don't know officially if the C905 has this ]
# Enhanced phonebook, revamped email client;
# New browser building upon WebKit open source project;

Personally I'm not to thrilled with 's slow pace of improving the core platform: ie SE decided to change the Messaging app giving it a major ability to save messages to the M2 card but NOT change the Calendar app which essentially is almost 9yrs old and other than color coded entrys looks & performs the SAME! as the T-39m! its LONG overdue to augment the Calendar app and give it some power for the END user ... synchronization has been there since the T-39m (although the protocol used then may have been different).

Personally, I think that it's good that they've added extra features to the platform. But to Joe Bloggs, they aren't going to care that much about it, and I think it looks rather horrible. Perhaps they might change what the menus look like later, but i think, in terms of looks, they've gone back a couple of steps. Comparing it to the latest A200 phones, to be perfectly honest it reminds me of the interface my Z600 had.

Oh well, just have to see how it goes.

Of course its great with new improvements and its about time they did. But the graphics just look poor i think it looked better before im sure Nokia can do better with the graphics. To me the way a menu looks makes using the phone more fun as well as usability but thats just me. Its like i hate the simple dark icons on some Samsung phones it just looks dull and boring. No platform is ever perfect and i do love Nokia but this just looks horrible to me.

the animations are the only thing thats different,
im using a 5300 which uses that platform,
it takes time to get used to to considering ive got a N95-2 aswell

Not impressed wth the graphics either, or the font. SE font is much better.
They chose some pretty awful themes to demonstrate the new UI with.
