> P800 microphone problem?
Bookmark topic
I have had complaints from several people who says my voice disappears every now and then while speaking. Since it sometimes works OK, and sometimes does not work OK, I so far assumed it had to do with reception etc. Now one mobile site in Sweden (www.mobil.se) has a story on this problem, seems like quite a few P800 users have the same problem. SE claims there is no problem (of course), but also suggests that users might be covering the microphone hole while talking. The hole is indeed in a weird spot, and could actually be covered, depending on how you hold the unit while talking. However, today I had the same complaint, and while talking I made sure my hand was far away from the microphone hole and checked my reception as well as the other part's reception (both were OK).
The conclusion I make is that there
IS a problem, and that it's probably not microphone-related (I once had teh complaint while using the handsfree).
Anyone else had the same problem? Could it be firmware-related? I have R1B.

I had a similar problem a couple of times. I don't know if it's from the phone or my bluetooth headset. I get one problem constantly though. The person at the other end hears a loud breif noise when I pick up an incoming call through my HBH-30 headset. That didn't use to happen with my T68i and the same headset.

I have a R1B p800 also and I tested this problems by calling from p800 to my t600 and left p800 beside tv and went to listen to other room. This is what I noticed; if the TV speaker output was at low level some word/parts of words were missing (some low noise was heard instead). When the speaker output was higher -> no problem.
The hole for microphone at p800 is really in a quite strange place, it's totally too easy to block the hole when calling while holding p800 at left hand... Is p800 designed to be hold at right hand ?

Actually this is because SE build it phones well, this thing was there in the t68i, but this is the noise filtering and the power saving in SE phones, I think so.

I have noticed the same problem a couple of times. I hope it is sw related and not hardwere related. I have also notice that people can hear you better when you hold the phone in you right hand since the mic is then closer to your mooth.

It's hard to say it's a SW problem when Mic is #¤%"#&(/, if u guys got lot of noise, when u talk, then leave it to the service piont
But I'm damn lucky with this phone, no problems with mic, and no either problem with Softwhere.,.
