Hey, I'm very new to imported cell phones and such. Been using crappy/old/free cellphones that came with my contract. However, I'm getting a new provider, and also looking into getting a new phone.

I've been reading researching and reading a lot around the internet, and feel that the K850 is a phone that I am very interested in. Since I'm totally new to cellphones, I was hoping you guys could help me and also answer a few questions?

* How exactly does firmware work for cellphones? Are they like drivers, where you can just go online and download the latest one?

* Also, I read a lot that the K850 had serious white-balance issues. Many said that the newest firmware update would fix all of that. Those were all posted around a year ago. Whats the current status of the K850? Have those issues been fixed?

* Lots of threads involving camera flash. What are the different types of flash that phones have, and the respective effectiveness?

* Also, one last question. Where does someone buy an unlocked phone? What are the trustable online sites? amazon.com?

Firmware is the Operating System of your phone eg.Windows XP for you PC.
and you can update it when via Sony Ericsson's Update service.

Camera Phone flash are of two types one is actually LED Light(which are pretty outdated) and the newer ones are the real Xenon flash you find in cameras though the ones on the phone are not AS good as the camera ones
