some say SOUND MOD?
what is that?
is it safe?

Get some cash spent and buy some Shure SE530's then you can blow your head off and with superb sound. Really impressed with sound quality with my Shures, so much so I sold my iPod as I realised how crap sound quality was!!
With a set of SE530's (cheaper Shures may be same) I can't have volume more than 70% without hurting my ears and bass is awesome... in fact everything is awesome!!
Recently tried a Walkman A282 dedicated mp3 player with my Shures and the W960i is not too far off quality wise. (also tried iPhone 3g, iPod touch & iPod classic & they sound poor in comparrison).
