My friend recently bought a second hand nokia 5310 in mint condition but when i look at it i found the menu is not like the common 5310 menu. The standby screen, the fonts are different too. It even didn't have bluetooth in the menu.
My question is can i flash the phone without taking it to Nokia Care Center? Fyi, it has english, chinese and several europe language in it such as germany and swedish. Bit confuse about this phone...
Someone please enlightened me?

you can update the software / re-install the latest software through the Nokia Software Updater program

Could be a very convincing Chinese fake.
Most of them look the same, but the difference is in the features and menu fonts usually. A lack of Bluetooth and fonts that look a bit funny are a dead give away.

Phew, so you're saying the phone was fake N0k1a?
What a great country Chinese are!
They could made a decent phone if only they want to try harder. The phone was very convincing outside, i mean the case and everything.
Can i try to flash it with the n0k1a update software to convince my friend that it was a fake and would it brick the phone?
Thank's for your info Daedalus85!

where did your friend purchase the handset from?
it's looks like a real Nokia to me,
and the screen layout looks like my 5300!
if it's a asian phone sometimes those don't include some features hence why your miss bluetooth.
ask your friend to let you see the manual and see whether it does include this feature

@Kerry, thats the idea, they're supposed to look like real Nokia's and the menus are supposed to look the same. They're operating illegally of course, but there's so many different ones out there Nokia don't have time to start law suits against them all.
