Hi there,

Have tried to search for this info but couldnt find it. Does the g900 have profiles (eg silent, meeting, outdoors, etc) because i couldnt find it on the online demo in any of the menu settings.

This would be quite important to me in my decision to buy this phone, so any help would be appreciated.

If anyone owns this phone and it doesnt have profiles, then how do you currently change profile settings?

nope ,there are no profiles in G900. but if you press the volume key in stand-by screen ,a menu apears and u can quickly control the volumes for calls/message alerts/alarms/multimedia and silent option.

I have heard of an application called magic profile - does this allow the phone to work as a standard phone with profiles. How can this feature be missing? It seems to be such a standard feature on all other phones old and new so why is it missing from this one (especially if it is to be used for people who regularly go into meetings, etc).

for meetings i just hold the hash key which puts the phone on silent... never seen the need for 'profiles'....

If I can remember correctly magic profile is only for UIQ 2 phones.

Hi chrisdv98 n G900 users

i just bought a G900
was extremely surprised n shocked to realised it doesnt have this function
(other than # silent n flight mode)

just call SE to ask where is the profile function hidding
was told there isnt any profile function in SE symbian

to me, profile is kind of a very basic function
im a heavy profile switching user

**does anyone know where to download compatible profile for G900?

to me, other than setting profile to ringing (general) or silent
in fact, due to i have many different environment to be
i have other setting like, soft (low ring volume)
or silent with vibrate or w/o vibrate

and most important of all, i do group my contacts
so, i can set which contact group of calls to accept only
while my profile is set to sleep
so when i group my family members
i will only receive calls from family members
and no calls from work, from sales calls.
so i can have proper good sleep.

im still searching for compatible software for G900 profile.
nothing found yet, anyone?
