I upgraded to iPhone 3G yesterday, and an hour after setting it all up, it bricked itself while I was out. It switched off in my pocket, and the only way to wake it was to put it in restore mode and restore it. I took it back today.

My replacement is no better. An hour or so after setting it up this evening, it froze when I opened Mail. I couldn't get back to the Home screen, I couldn't switch it off. I had to restore it.

Three hours later as I was going to bed, it did it again when I quickly opened App Store to check on something. So here I am at midnight, restoring the iPhone again so I can take it back tomorrow and get my THIRD iPhone.

Anyone else had problems like these?

None reported at this end, although I'm glad to see Apple have made such a fine quality product this time around

Sorry, that's my inner-child saying "haha, told you so" to the mobile market

On my third one now; this one seems more stable so far...

Maybe it's because it came from the Apple store, as O2 had sold out of broken iPhones.
