when i plug my phone into the computer trhough a data cable it doesnt work it just nds up charging it, help

Pluggin on other USB port (or other PC if you have to try wouldn't be bad)... If not, you can also try re-installing the USB flash drivers of the phone... That may solve your problem aswell...
