if on the main screen you maintain pushing a button, you go directly in the phone book at the alphabetical position of the button
example : pressing button 8 -> you go to "T" letter
quickly than : press down, press 8...

Imho, just check forum 4 tips and trick for t68i. Most of them works with t300 and that's nothing new.

but that seems to access only the phone numbers stored on the SIM.

You can also activate the screensaver by holding down #. On both phones, T68 and T300.
