I have been using a p910i for several years and have never experienced a problem with it, just love the phone (even when its outdated).
But a few days ago i started havign this problem. The phone stays in the handsfree mode. Disconnecting the headset does not change anything. If anyone knows how to switch the phone back to handheld mode....

It sounds like a hardware problem. Something is off in the port. You might have to take it for repairs.

Seems like a hardware problem with the port. My P1i has one year and a half and sometimes it doesn't charge or the headphones do not connect, which also means the port has a problem.It can be replaced at small costs.
