I have compared the g900 to the w960i and k800i and the screens are different? could u tell me what this could mean?

the g900 has - 262,144-colour TFT
the w960i has - 262,144 color touchscreen
the k800i has - 262,144-colour TFT

does that mean the g900 has a different type of touchscreen? maybe like the k850 using heat to operate its touchscreen?

Or could it be a mistake by the people down at sony ericsson?

Well, the W960 and the G900 both have capacitive touch screens, while the K800 has a generic TFT display.
Also, W960's screen is 2.6", G900's is 2.4" and K800's screen is 2.0".
IMO, the G900 has the best quality.

PS. The K850 doesn't have a touchscreen, just heat-sensitive buttons.

I'm not sure the screens are capacitive (they would react to finger touch only, but not to stylus, whereas in reality they do react to any press).

It's mostly the cover on top of the screen that makes them different from the majority of touchscreen devices.

hey guys ... the question which came to my mind several times is how does the touch screens work is it heat ... or light or what? can any one help. and if there is different kinds of them can you mention them and what the differances between them. thx

You're right. But how can they be resistive with that hard cover on top?
