so today i tried w980 for real. i was quite excited to this lovely phone. it was relese this week.
+
the design (its beatiful)
great headphones. (HPM-77)
clear audio experience really make some difference. i tried it on a pair of good headphones (Creative Aurvana Live) and it was loud and good sound.
i also tried the sound on (the stores) MBS-100... great sound actually.
keypad was nice to use
the new feature "walkman on top" worked great. (you get acess to the music directley and faster this time).
fm transmitter, (my favo feature)
new light features who you can adjust to the music was cool (if you like that sort of stuff)

Nice pics there plank... About the camera, this is walkman phone so it's camera cannot be the same as the cybershot series... But if you are in need for a phone with good music capabilities, you can go for this one...

its a really strange move by Sonyericsson here.
ex. w902 have the same great camera meny as allways, (like k850, c902, etc). but w980 have some old strange thing... really weird

I'm joking... Well I think they wanted to base this phone only as a music player... Not a camera too...

I have got no problem whatsoever with this phone. Really love it on first sight. My main concern was music and it does every part flawlessly for me and very impressively. The clear audio experience is awesome and beats my N95B to death in sound quality through headphones. Yes the camera is in a bit awkward position i should say but i can live with that and I have never used a phone for snapping even my N95B as I have got specialized baby for that.
I agree with Plank that the phone material is a kind of plastic feel but have you noticed how light it is, and I guess it has got the same material and feel of W910.
Below are some pix which i took while i was writing this post, the camera is on default settings.
In first pic, the white flowers are a bit blurry as there were a strong breeze in my garden.

@aasimtom... i didnt mean it had bad build design. i just thougt it was little light. i liked the design overall very much.
this outdoor pics are actually quite good. so there i was little wrong. (i tried the camera indoor, and it became bad)
and you really right. W980 weight is super light. (100g exactley)

edit. does w980 have 2 separate speakers.. i saw one...am i wrong ???
yes (SORRY), it seems w980 have stereo speakers...strange, it sounded as mono when i listen to it ????
