> S.E have lost my phone!

Hey all
I am not really happy at all. My K850i was sent to s.e in the UK on the 05/08/08 it was sent royal mail special delivery. I checked the royal mail website on the 06/08/08 and showed it was signed for. I checked with s.e on 07/08/08 to get a little update. Gave the girl my name and address she had my records and said that they have it and its in the repair at the moment.
I called today 08/08/08 to get another quick update. I got told they cannot find a record of the phone being booked in for repair, despite the girl i spoke to the other day saying it is in repair. I gave the guy i spoke to the ref number i was given too, and he couldn't find anything. Now I don't know what to do.
The guy i spoke to today said he will raise a case gave me a case number and said the s.e escalation team will look into this and get back to me within 3-5 working days. So now i am without a phone even longer. I asked the guy what if my phone cannot be found, then what? will you be giving me a replacement. He said he cannot comment on it, since its up to the escalation team to comment.
What should i do? if they say they can't replace it? Since at the end of the day its them who lost it?
I am really not happy at all
Any advice please?
Miyagi

You just need to be careful and harrass them almost everytime. These people have a bad tendence of giving a cheaper phone yo keep you going while they work on the one in repairs. jUST BE CAREFULL

Thats bad luck. Bit of advice rather than just get ref numbers everytime you call up get the persons name you were talking to. If you had got that womans name perhaps things might be different. Strange that though maybe she was looking at the wrong details. Crazy. Good luck.

thanks bono. well i will be looking at recieving a call from them 2moro, if not i will be calling them up. i am just thinkin that on royal mail special del it says the handset is delivered and signed for by s.e. so if s.e dont replace it, can i make a claim through royal mail and say that s.e are saying they did not get the handset?

Actually some years back a similar thing happened to me. I had a Vodafone contract and they sent me an upgrade which was an expensive phone a Nokia 8810 or something. Anyway they lost it somewhere in the post and it still appeared on my bill charging me for the phone. Found out in the end there was a van robbery at Parceline depot. AND THE PUT IT ON MY ACCOUNT. Anyway hope you get it back.

Other than the sheer inconvenience and frustration of it, I don't think you have a problem. You have proof in the form of Royal Mail that it was delivered and you have a reference number confirmation (albeit one that has now dissapeared from their system).
IMO that is easily enough proof to semonstrate that the phone was delivered and received by SE. This in turn will guarantee you a replacement phone. The only problem is how much effort you will have to go to and how long you will have to wait... but you will end up OK.
