Its not just more apps. Its apps that add more functionality to the phone. Like CorePlayer, it adds avi, divx, flv, mpeg1,2, ogg, etc. . . Playback support, or Joiku which allows your wi-fi symbian phone to be used as a wi-fi modem by other wi-fi enable devices, theres lots more those are just ones i could think of right now.

Wtf? More apps? More like more USEFULL apps that can actualy add features the device didnt have before. Unlike java, the only usefull java apps are MobilePDF and DocViewer that add support for pdf/document viewing. I dont think UIQ3 has more apps though, but its apps are certainly more usefull than java.
