Im soon to buy a new top of the range phone. I cant decide between the N82 or N95 8 gig. My problem is i have heard that the N82 screen brightness is poor compared to the N95. Is this true and if so is it really that bad is it quite dim in comparison. Thanks.

Its little litte bit dul than others nokia but its ok. I haven't any problem with that. You can't realise the difference until put it with others to side by side. There is a hacking methode to get brightness like others but imo it doesn't need because original is totally ok.

Ok cool it does not look much different at all. I would also tend to use the brighter themes to brighten the display up a little bit more. Im getting anxious cos im receiving a big fat cheque tomorrow from a solicitor in Ireland and its a very nice sum of money so im treating myself to a new phone. Will be sensible with rest of it. Im also getting a works bonus too which is no where near as much but not complaining. I was in a knot over which phones to buy. My choices are Nokia N82 Nokia N95 8 gig Samsung Omnia HTC Diamond or SonyEricsson C702. The latter is a bit of a come down compared to the rest but its still a decent phone. But my main choice is N82 as i want everything in a phone.

I guess they have done it for battery issues. Thats the only thing i hate about Nokia they need to sort out battery life.

Yeah N82’s battery life isn’t impressive but for me with heavy internet use (in mobile and also in computer as a modem through EDGE) and more than 3 hours of talk, its last 2 days. You can find great battery life on E series now.

is battery life really that big of an issue. it easily lasts one day if not two.
just stick it on charge before you go to bed

Or don't use it and just look at it?

No battery life is not a huge issue with me. They do need to improve it but im also a heavy user i use internet daily and even on my current K800i i need to charge it up every night cos on 3G the battery runs down quite fast when on the net. One thing i notice with Nokia Symbian phones is the battery bars go down 2 bars then hardly move for ages. Then you turn phone off then back on and its 1 bar. Despite that i love Nokia.
