I just received my Bluespoon Bluetooth headset today and really like using it as my headset for voice calls etc. However, everytime I try playing a music file using the Audio application, the music comes from the phone rather than the headset...

Anybody know how to redirect the music to the bluetooth headset?

u know what!!
i have been wondering myself about it really. if its possible to listen to mp3 music while u r 10 meters away. that would be the best thing on this P800 so i could go and work out while listening to music.

It would be in mono though (that's providing it's possible, which i don't think it is).

im not too sure that it's possible, well it's possible but the phone hasnt been engineered so that that kind of audio can be sent via a bluetooth radio transmitter.

ive got t68(i) and hbh30 and i've tried listening to recorded audio clips but it doesnt work. on the t68(i) you can paly audio down the phone to someone in the middle of a conversation - could you do this with an mp3 while talknig to someone on the p800? i do this occasionally with my friends if they want to hear a new song or something that i've just managed to capture off a radio (not that good sound quality but you can make it out).

if you were able to play mp3s down the phone to somebody, what you could do is call a free number, such as voicemail, top up credit etc (cost of call depends on network provider as some charge for voicemail) and then play your song down the phone and leave the phone connected while going through a playlist of songs?

jsut a random idea, i don't have a p800 but i can imagine doing something quite similar with my t68i and voice memos/audio clips

to play music from your recorder using a bluetooth handsfree kit you need add a voice command for your recorder.

to do this goto the settings menu then voice control.
click on sound recoder then add voice.

press and hold the call button on your bluetooth handsfree bluetooth handsfree kit. after the beep say the command you recorded for you sound recorder.

Even IF you could redirect the audio to the BT headset, it would kill your headset battery... remember that the TALK TIME of your headset would also be the playback time! So you'll only get approx 4 hours of music on your BT headset, mono, 22kHz, and a headset with almost no battery by the time you need to make a call.

Oh well, looks like this is another small nit for SE to pick up on their patch (hopefully soon). Obviously listening to music via a mono headset is not great, but I am sure there will be stereo BT headsets soon. I was just playing around with my Bluespoon, which I must say I really like - it's so tiny that people around me think I'm talking to myself... (see it at www.nextlink.to ). The only problem is that the signal that the P800 puts out is pretty weak through cloth - I have had signal problems when the P800 is in my trouser pocket, but not when it is 1 meter and a half away on a desk. A little annoying to have to keep taking it out of my pocket - hopefully someone will come out with a belt holster for the phone soon.
