Whats everyone else's take on this. Do you think their chargers are far too big as in the plug part that goes into the phone side itself. I think with the current crop of their phones getting smaller or slimmer they should shrink the plugs. Looking at the C902 and seeing the huge plug going in the side of it just gets in the way and looks ugly. Manufacturers need to start perhaps making alternative types of phone chargers too giving more options like stand up ones. I also hate some Nokia ones too although smaller seem fragile.

UK has a different type of three pin socket which is quite big.
So charger is also a bit big
. Most of the focus is on the Phone and not much on the charger as you wont be carrying the charger with you all the time.

Yeah the plug for the phone side is a little big but it doesn't really matter. The problem is SE's headset shares the same design, it is a bit baulky for smaller SE phones.

Yeah noticed the current crop of Nokia (UK) chargers are really quite small, the one for my Blackberry is huge but it has they benefit of the data cable just unplugging from the plug bit which I find handy.

Well, this really doesn't have anything to do with the chargers, does it? You're talking about the connector, not the charger.
As said, SE's connector is used for data transfers, charging, audio out, audio in (microphone) and radio antenna. How would you expect that to be any smaller while still keeping it reliable?

at the risk of igniting a recent discussion again, I might just mention that windows mobile phones (e.g. my current HTC diamond) can do all those things through the mini USB port and its 100% reliable and also a sure fit. I've also not heard of contact problems with mini USB that are well known in the ericsson/se style connector
since SE put the mini usb on the V800 (it also had the old style connector too) I've always hoped SE would move the way of usb as almost all my gadgetry can be charged and/or connected to pc via USB to mini usb. This would also mean that I would only have to carry one USB cable with me on my travels
I'd prefer an industry standard over a proprietry solution anyday... and (keeping to topic) its smaller too!

I'll drink to that, i still don't understand why they want proprietary connectors. They're just frigging wires! You're talking about the mini USB connectors. F*ck....even THOSE don't have a standard size!
