Hi all,

I retired my P990i and started using a P1 recently and have since gone Uber Nerd with it by installing a few useful apps such as opera mini, Talkonaut etc.

I never bothered doing any of this with the P990 due to its tiny RAM. I have however noticed something very annoying. The GPRS connection becomes inactive despite the fact that it has been set to be always connected. This, of course, renders self updating apps and IM apps useless.

Has anyone found a solution for this or better still, is there a random application out there that I could install that constantly activates a GPRS link? It doesn't even need to be a useful app. It can update me with random photos of giraffe testicles for all I care!!

Any feedback would be welcome

Thanks

Scorchio,

try using the inbuilt email client in P1i. i have configured gmail on it. works wonderfully for me.

for how to do that see this: http://www.trebskie.org/2007/[....]ure-p1i-for-gmail-imap-access/

and in options, keep it to always on push and sent time for 24 hours. this will keep your phone connected in gprs for that much time.

this should help

cheers
