Has anyone been able to extract the built-in picture editor from the G900 and make it a standalone application?

As of now, the only way to access the picture editor is to start a new MMS, insert a picture, and choose to edit it. But then I can't find a way to save my freshly edited picture. Even so, the whole "open MMS, insert picture, etc." process really sucks and it would be way nicer to have the application somewhere easily accessible.

Thanks a lot in advance!

I have been looking for this as well. This is the only function I miss from my last device, which was a Winmo PDA.

Appreciate if anybody could shed some light on this

Go to picture gallery, more, new picture. There was such option as I remember. You should be able to find it.

that option is not available. i would like to be able to edit my pictures w/o downscaling it to mms size too. hopefully one of the boys (gapata?) can figure out how to extract this.

Would love to have that too. I'm loving the G900 but it's one of the essential features that it is missing. It's a smartphone after all

Well, yes, it seems like it would be the solution. Not sure anyone would bother to, unless that someone has both a P1 and a G900 and misses the photo editing feature.

BTW, once you edit the photo through the MMS application, it seems like you can't even save it in the phone anyway... useless.

How i'd love to scribble notes on the pics I take, it'd be so useful for my work.

Come to think of it, there is no way at the moment to resize or crop a picture in G900. I struggled to resize a 5MP picture the other day so I can send it over bluetooth, but to no avail.

Just searched the net for any photo editing apps for UIQ - none! Some old stuff for UIQ2, that's it.

Please please can someone take a stab at this?!..
