> URGENT: VW Caddy Tyres
Bookmark topic
Bit of a predicament here, explanation:
Basically, my grandfather has just been bought a Caddy Life 1.9TDI. (I think it's a Turkey specific model or something.)
The tyres the car rolled out with are Hankook tyres, and a quick bit of research showed me that Hankook doesn't make OE tyres for Volkswagen.... unless I missed something crucial with that.
Every other Caddy I've seen has been on Michelins, Bridgestones and I saw one with a set of Conti's.
If anyone could help me out on this please with confirmation on what tyres the car should be on please, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Oh, and the car has the stock standard alloys on it.
EDIT: The vehicle is from Dogus Oto Turkey.
They're getting some sh!t if they're at fault....

Doesnt matter what make tyres it has. As long as they are the correct size and rating they shoud be ok.

I agree.
My car was also bought from Dogus Oto. It had dunlops on it when it came out from factory. After couple of years VW changed the tyres to Michelin as standart.
You can write to VW or Dogus Oto to ask what should be the stock tyres. But as jcwhite_uk said as long as they are correct size and rating that would be ok.

VAG cars come with Continental Ecocontact tyres when new although the higher end models (eg.Phaeton,Toureg) have a choice of tyres.

If they're putting cheaper tyres on it - it's practically stealing...

I'm aware Toyo are probably the best and that they're Korean, as is Kumho, but Hankook...?
What the hell? They don't even make OEM tyres for VW.

The Hankook Tire group, based in Seoul, South Korea is the seventh largest tire company in the world [1]. Established in 1941 as the "Chosun Tire Company", it was renamed "Hankook Tire Manufacturing" in 1968.

I found a couple of places that say that Hankook Optimo K406 tyres are original equipment on a VW Caddy.
