Is there a programme that can just simply tell me how much i have downloaded in a month, day, week?

Google bandwidth monitor/manager or something along those lines, you'll deffo find something useful.

if you have a spare computer that you dont use, stick smoothwall express 3 on it, then it should count the bandwith of the whole network over the month as well as providing you with another firewall
