What do you think of biotechnology?
Should xenotransplantation (using organs from pigs), cloning, pre- implantation diagnosis (testing of the DNA- searching for diseases), genetic therapy ("designer" babies) and euthanasia (passive/ active) be more allowed?

What about biotechnology used within military?

I think it will result in our demise, we have probably been on the planet too long for our own good.....i think i`ll have a nice cup of tea now.

We (the human kind) have done everything else wrong on this planet, so why not continue on the same path...
We think we're so smart and doing it all for the best. Well here's some news, we can't fool Mother Nature. Look at all the enviromental problems, changes in climate, ozone layer, pollution, and now we want to crowd the place as well? Clone ourself? God we're smart.

i've done research reports on this..
i think that the line drawn to which what is morally right and wrong is thin and burred amongst todays society.
i'm opt for the idea of trying to benefit mankind with various forms of treatment including xenotransplantation,
but there are so many things happening as technology develops so fast.
and now there are claims of cloning humans being done.
are we breaking traditional ethics or helping society?
and where do we draw the line?

oh yeah
i think designer babies arent a good thing,
it takes away from individualism and identity.
somethings should happen naturally,
like Darwin's theory of natural selection, we are the way we are for a reason,
not to be changed through a simple touch of a button.
not to mention the consiquences such as new genetic defects and diseases.

Hmmm, wonder how the cloned babies Clonaid claimed had been born, will be later on in life? The problem with cloning, let's say a couple wants to clone their precious daughter that died last year, is that this clone will be TOTALLY different! To wish that a clone would act the same as original is really out of this world. When it comes to xenotransplantation- I think it's ok. (I've had a project on biotech and how the different religions looks upon it- that's why I'm so interested in it). This post was posted from a T68i

Haven't seen that one- but I've seen Jurassic Park. We all saw what that lead into. *Eeek!* Anyway, a good book about nasty biotech is James Patterson's: When The Wind Blows- about making humans able to fly. This post was posted from a T68i
